What we do
We in Cura offer free support and counselling services, both over the phone and in face-to-face sessions in Cura centres across Ireland. Our trained counsellors can give you both practical information and emotional support, and we will be there for you for as long as you need us. You don’t need a referral, and there are no waiting lists.
You can attend on your own, or with your partner or other family member. Cura can support your partner or other family member if they feel they would also like to see a counsellor. Depending on what you want and what you think will be most useful for you, a counsellor will see you together or separately. Normally a counsellor will see both separately at least once.
Services are available to both men and women and are provided:
- During pregnancy (whether it was planned or unplanned)
- After an abortion
- During a baby’s first year

What we don't do
Cura counsellors don't provide medical checkups or prenatal/postnatal classes.
We don’t hold group therapy sessions or facilitate support groups, though a number of family members may attend Cura together.
Cura counsellors also don’t provide contact details for abortion clinics, or information on abortion services. However you are free to discuss abortion, and your counsellor will not direct you or try to influence your decisions.
We don’t engage in political lobbying. We are here to support our clients and provide our services to those who need them.
