Counselling after an Abortion

Women can experience a range of emotions after an abortion including a sense of loss and sadness. Women cope with their situation and emotions in different ways.

You may feel supported by your friends, partner or family members or feel unable to talk to anyone.

You can attend post abortion counselling soon after an abortion or at any time you wish, even after many years. In Cura, counselling and support after an abortion is provided by trained and experienced counsellors.

Post abortion counselling and support is available nationwide free of charge if you decide at any time you would like to talk to someone. The service is confidential and non judgemental.

This service is also available to men and other family members who need support in relation to a past abortion. It is necessary to make an appointment for this service. You can contact your local Cura centre to do this. Spiritual support is also available on request.
