An unplanned pregnancy or a crisis during a pregnancy at any age may be a time of anxiety and stress with many conflicting feelings, emotions and practicalities to consider.
Counselling can support you in making decisions about your pregnancy; the decision that is best for you.
Initially you may need time, someone to listen, a safe place to be while you have that time to think without pressure or judgement. Cura counsellors can give you this. We can support you by discussing your concerns, feelings, emotions and practical questions while you make a decision and plans about your pregnancy.
Cura crisis pregnancy counsellors provide a professional approach to all services and you can contact us for support at any time during your pregnancy.
Cura also provides Counselling and Support after an Abortion. We understand that some women may experience a range of complex and difficult emotions after an abortion and Cura counsellors can support you in this.
Being a parent of a new baby is a challenging time. In Cura you can talk to us about the challenges and concerns which you may be facing in the early weeks and months of parenting a new baby. We provide Support to Mothers and Fathers of a New baby.
A counselling session will give you:
Time and space to work out your feelings about your pregnancy
The opportunity to discuss any options you may wish to explore in relation to your pregnancy
Support in telling your partner, family and friends should you need it
Practical information on your rights and entitlements and the supports available if you are in education or if you are working
All Cura services are also available to men and other family members in centres throughout the country. You can drop in to any of our centres during opening hours or we can arrange an appointment for you if our opening hours do not suit you.
