Volunteer

Cura provide a range of unplanned and crisis pregnancy support services as follows:

  • Crisis or Unplanned Pregnancy Support and Counselling
  • Pregnancy Testing
  • Counselling and Support after an Abortion
  • Support to Mothers and Fathers of a New Baby
  • Cura Schools Awareness Programme

 

All services are also available to men and other family members. Services are provided through 14 Cura centres and a number of outreach services throughout the country. Cura believes in and is committed to promoting and supporting voluntary work as a means of providing services.

 

There are up to 200 trained crisis pregnancy counsellors working on a voluntary basis in providing a full range of counselling and support services and Schools Awareness Programme. Each local Centre is managed by a Management Committee who are responsible for the day to day running of the Centre. Cura management structures are made up of active Cura counsellors.

 

A volunteer is understood to be a person who undertakes voluntary work on behalf of Cura and with our consent. It is undertaken by choice and is unpaid.

  • Have you approximately 4 hours per week to commit?

As a volunteer you will be offered:

  • Crisis Pregnancy Counselling Training
  • Ongoing Support and Supervision
  • Ongoing In Service Training Opportunities
  • Opportunity to participate in Monthly Counsellor Meetings in your Centre
  • Opportunity to be involved in Management Structures at local Cura Centre level.
