Taking a pregnancy test is a big deal – whatever the result. You may feel happy, worried, panicked, relieved, or disappointed. It can help to have someone to talk to, before and after you take a pregnancy test. We provide pregnancy testing at all of our local centres, free of charge.
The Cura centre you choose to attend will have a pregnancy test kit available and a private counselling room for you to talk through your results. Although results are fairly accurate, if you have a negative test result you will need to have your test confirmed with a GP.
What will my counsellor do?
A Cura counsellor can be there for you and support you as much as you need. We can give you a safe space where you can take the time you need to think things through. The counsellor will not pressure you or direct you in any way, but will let you talk about how you are feeling, and allow you to decide what you are going to do next.
How do I arrange it?
If you would like to have a pregnancy test done, you can call in to one of our centres during opening hours, or call our Helpline and a counsellor will set up an appointment for you at a time that suits. You can bring someone with you or attend by yourself if you prefer.
